To improve the first intervention, I invited individuals who, in response to the survey I conducted in July, self-identified as shy when answering the question “Do you consider yourself a shy person?” These individuals were asked to read about the logical framework of shyness formation and a list of cognitive distortions. Here is the feedback from eight people.
It’s evident that people have different understandings of shyness and social anxiety. Making them aware of this emotional state is an important first step. By recognizing their own cognitive distortions or deficiencies, they can effectively improve their social interactions in daily life. I recommended the books I read over the summer, which I believe will help them gain a more comprehensive and systematic understanding of this psychological issue and provide some mental support.
