INTERVENTION PROCESS:
This Tuesday, I posted ten flyers at school to find stakeholders, and after waiting for five days, I was lucky to receive responses from four people. I sent each of them the tips I had summarized for alleviating shyness and social anxiety, and they provided me with immediate feedback. However, since these tips require time to be absorbed and applied in practice, I am also waiting for their follow-up updates.

REFLECTIONS:
This intervention was my first experience actively reaching out to complete strangers for feedback, and it was also a process of self-exploration. I consider myself one of my own stakeholders, and this has already been a successful self-intervention. In the past, I would not have proactively tried to connect with strangers or expand my social circle. However, this attempt helped me realize that building social connections isn’t as difficult as I imagined. Once I took the first step, I didn’t feel too bad even if someone refused to answer my questions. The challenge was mainly the psychological preparation beforehand, which took a long time and often left me hesitant and conflicted.
I could clearly sense that this hesitation was my social anxiety—overthinking and fearing rejection when dealing with unfamiliar people. I also tried applying some of the social tips shared by stage performers. For me, imagining myself as a professional and visualizing immediate benefits I might gain after asking a question made it easier to muster the courage to approach others.
Additionally, I reflected on the importance of seeking help and advice from others. Most people don’t find my questions silly and are actually willing to help. Society is built on interpersonal connections; I can’t isolate myself like an island.
CHALLENGES:
During this week, while looking for participants across the entire school, I only received responses from four people. Excluding factors such as my posters not being noticed or people without social anxiety not being interested, I still think the response rate is low. I believe that my potential stakeholders may also struggle with actively reaching out to strangers, which poses a challenge for me in finding more stakeholders and collecting data. I want to explore a way to help my project reach more people.
